Detroit and the oil companies are in lockstep. It boggles my mind that after 100 years of internal combustion, for some 'peculiar' reason, there's never been a serious alternative to gasoline developed.
amazing everything else can advance ie computers, medicine, construction, but that stubborn old gasoline, just cant improve on that. could it be that every sticking big wig in government has a little interest in it? could it be that it would put too many things in tourmoil for those that thrive off the riches from it? I mean is there no way to make something work on an alternative? I'd think there would be someone out there that could come up with a workable product

Yep, evidently switching to ethanol wouldn't require much effort. But the oil companies don't own too many cornfields. Or maybe they do [img]graemlins/hmmm.gif[/img]
or a break in prescriptions due to the greedy drug companies. use the excuse that a pill cost 800 dollars because of the studies and the experiments. BITE MY ASS LIARS. you dont mark something up 800% and get anyone to believe that.
I think the 800% markup is to pay for all the malpractice suits when the drug ends up killing people because the FDA allowed the drug company to rush it into production without thorough testing.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">that happens on drugs thats been tested, distributed, studied, ok'ed after time has passed. there is no way you should have to pay some of the marked up prices they put on meds. try being on a bunch of meds and paying 20 bucks a perscription AFTER insurance. It cost me about 300 dollars a month after insurance on meds that have been out for MANY years. you'd think that after a while prices would go down, but they just go up. and I dont think its from sooo many people dying from drugs rushed to market. I think a lot of times its the other way around too. SOMETIMES they take too much time to get meds to the public. with the amount of mark up on meds they cover the money to the lawyers, study and trials, coming up with new meds and still enough to make the big wigs richOriginally posted by sculpey:

Its the same going to the hospital and being charged 1.00 for a 0.01 cent asaprin. for some reason that bothers me. you have to have some of the meds to stay alive and have really no choice about having to buy them.
but its not worth arguing about. nothing will change and there are two sides to every argument
